Boolean Search
Updated over a year ago

How can I exclude and include keywords at the same time?

If you wish to include and exclude keywords at the same time for your CV Search, you need to use the Boolean Search option under the search bar.

How to use the Boolean search?

Boolean search is based on a lot of different operators. Let’s discuss the main three operators: AND, OR and NOT.

Note: All the Boolean operators should be capitalized so the system will recognize them as operator words.

Here’s a brief about the operators:

AND operator: Will help you to include any word to your search.

OR Operator: Will help you to give multiple options.

NOT Operator: Will help you to exclude any word from the search.

Here is an example for clarity:

If we are looking for a developer for example with specific experience and we need to remove other experiences, then the Boolean search is the best option for us:

("Programmer" OR "Developer" OR “Software Engineer") AND Java NOT Flutter.

In this example, we asked the system to search for all the words that describe the position (whether it’s programmer or developer or software engineer) and asked it to include a specific experience (JAVA) and not to include (Flutter Language) in our search.
